VERICO Canada has worked with Plan Canada for the last 3 years, and we are proud to support their work with children and their communities around the world. In 2010, VERICO Canada invites you to join us in raising funds for a School Environmental Improvement project in Jia County, China. This one year project will improve children’s learning and living environment. Funds from the Chinese Government have been used to build schools, while leaving secondary support buildings such as student dormitories, reading rooms, dining rooms and washrooms, neglected. In many places, the students are required to eat on the open ground; the washrooms are not hygienic; and the students who lodge, often do not have the facilities available to maintain their personal hygiene, therefore placing their health at risk. Other needs such as updated teaching methodology, school management quality and teacher capacity are often weak due to the government’s sole focus on infrastructure. Your donation will help Plan improve children’s learning and living environment, by repairing 7 classrooms and 13 dormitories in 5 communities in China.
